Obama maintained the status quo. On his watch the rich got richer and the poor got poorer, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.

Well, that's your problem, not mine.
Not what I said TJ. FWIW, I am a committed independent; I have worked for myself most of my career owning businesses. I tend to read a lot and if what I read sounds too good to be true or illogical, I verify. In fact, one of the benefits of belonging to this forum is that most news & information gets vetted here quite well. So it's quite a remote possibility that I will be brainwashed.

I was willing to sit back and watch Trump in action but within two days of his presidency I was on full BS alert. Trying to force a lie as fact (or is it alternative fact?) in the face of overwhelming evidence is brainwashing. So who is being brainwashed here?

One of the great irony...Obama speech from Chicago.

Trump should put the spot light on Chicago.
So, send in the 82nd Airborne and a couple of armored divisions to police inner cities? Sounds a bit excessive, no?

They sky is falling in Chicago? I doubt it.

Killing a bunch more niggers won't fix it in any case.

But this is a shell game as the title suggests. Send in the National Guard, gangs stay indoors, call it a victory and then leave.

That's a relatively benign possibility. But I fear part of the point will be bodies. For both sides. No early departure therefore.

Are you in a loony asylum somewhere. The market doubled under Obama. The only people he helped were the very rich and perhaps the very poor. The middle class got screwed.

And, 2 % growth is nowhere near prosperous. The liberal policies by nature cannot lead to prosperity.

Yet you stick to them as we slowly go down the drain like raising a frog's water to a boil.

That's a good way to introduce Trump's brand of control, and Chicago is his choice of place to start...once he has Chicago militarily buttoned down according to republican standards, then he'll move on to those sanctuary cities....then to cities that allow pot sales...then to gay cities and places that allow abortions... then where you live.

I'm not disputing you, but I do remind you this all started with "trickle down" that didn't trickle. Decidedly conservative policies.

The liberal policy is massive wealth redistribution, mainly through progressive income taxes,a high tax on business profits, and substantial governmental spending on infrastructure and social programs. This model led to the formation of the world's largest middle class ever seen, and a vigorous support system for the poor.

On the other hand, the conservative credo of lower taxes, minimal wealth redistribution, and unfettered capitalism has recently lead to the world's greatest wealth inequity via net income, and the lowering of our nation's credit rating.

Ayn Rand's rugged transformative individualism fails in actual practice across societal boundaries. Objectivism fails in every respect. Having served in the military, I learned that you are only as competent and capable as the least amongst you, so you had to make sure that weak link was pretty damn good. Capitalism is all about not caring for that weak link much, and the Republican facet is about ensuring there is a constant stream of weak links, and then taking full and complete advantage of those weak links.
