One side-effect of Rep. John Lewis's heated and very public spat with President-elect Donald Trump: ballooning interest in books written by the civil rights icon.

The Georgia Democrat's “Walking with the Wind: A Memoir of the Movement” was sold out on Amazon and was the site's No. 2 bestseller. Used copies of the hardcover edition were going for nearly $100.

Claiming the top spot on the list was another book by Lewis: “March,” a graphic-novel trilogy about the civil rights movement. The third installment won the National Book Award last year.

Amazon listed both books as “temporarily out of stock” on Sunday. Sales for both had ballooned more than 100,000 percent, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Never heard of John Lewis before which is a big mistake. Thanks Mr. Trump.

The big shadow of Trump will make a lot of light visible. This is a comforting thought. I know that there is still a good America and I love it.

Lewis fucked with the wrong guy.

He was the one who attacked Trump.

Trump just hit him back.

I guess Lewis thinks the fact that he got beat up by some crackers 50 years ago that that gives him a license to trash anyone without fear of reprisal.

Well Fuck Him.

Quote:
This past weekend Representative John Lewis decided to attack and called the Trump presidency “illegitimate.”

He cited his belief that the Russians were responsible for the election results. In response, the president-elect responded to Lewis that his district was a mess and that Lewis needed to do his job. Then, 31 Democrat politicians told Lewis they would join his boycott of the Trump inauguration. This was then reported as being the result of Trump’s “attack” of John Lewis.

To better understand the extent of lousy we are witnessing here it is necessary to go back to the primary election of 2016 and follow it up to this latest display of hypocrisy.

Trump could have bitten his tongue and not take the bait, plus his use of "talk, talk, talk" was essentially against reality...facing down them crackers, especially fifty years ago, took much, much more than talk.

Those were real crackers.

I agree, but that was 50 years ago.

How long is he going to get by resting on his laurels?

50 years?

Even Don Schula only got to live on that 1972 season for 20 years.

Don Schula won a football game, not exactly comparable with Lewis' accomplishments.
