You feel some guilt is being thrown at you, don't you? You're defending against that, no?

Guilt is indeed a load put upon one by others. I stopped playing the shame/blame/guilt/should game long ago.

What about present actions/inactions? What have you done lately/ever to combat the racial injustice we see around us every day? Have you ever even participated in a protest?

Guilt is the feeling that you did something you consider wrong. Shame is the feeling that others think you did something and regard you badly for it. If you feel these things they are yours. If you don't they aren't.
And what I'm talking about here is more an intellectual/empathic decision to to take on some responsibility, regardless of how blameless-in-fact you consider yourself.
A question though: have there been any occasions in your life when others dissed blacks in your presence, and you did nothing?

Please be more specific with your question DQ. Answering it yourself may be of some assistance.
And what you're talking about here isn't about my response to MrPots post.
And I find your definitions lacking. Try these: https://www.google.com/#q=guilt+definition and https://www.google.com/#q=shame+definition.

Good guilt trip questions.
I do my best to treat those I know and meet for who they are knowing that individual humans don't have all that much say in who they are.

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
Edmund Burke is thought to have said this but he definitely said the following:
"There is, however, a limit at which forbearance ceases to be a virtue."
Parenthetically, he also said this:
"People crushed by law, have no hopes but from power. If laws are their enemies, they will be enemies to laws; and those who have much to hope and nothing to lose, will always be dangerous."

Burke is generally rewarding, when one looks into his thought.

A good question. One that makes you stop and think, and shows the subtlety of how deep racism and be. For me, with the exception of my step father in-law, I can't remember having to deal with it. And no, I don't say anything to him as it would be futile and even likely a bit dangerous.
That lack of exposure to racism is very fortunate for me, and pretty rare. Either that, or I have blinders on and I am racist at a level I can't even see. I think the former however.
