I have no problem with anyone of any race. I simply demand respect. If someone's looking at me, I'm not afraid to look them right in the eye.

I think that most situations of intimidation can be avoided in two ways......either a German Shepherd, or a carry permit. I remember a story from a co-worker that was walking through a park, and a group of thugs was walking towards him from behind. He reached up his sweater to scratch his back, thereby exposing a .45 stuffed in the back of his pants. The crowd swiftly turned in another direction.

Because they were? But I'm not a bigot, they were only doing the drive by's that the poor white trash won't do.

Actually, there were only a few Hispanics around here before the local turkey plant starting importing them from Mexico a little over 10 yrs ago. Now they're app 15% of the population, and brought a unique set of problems with them. Most of them are very gracious, but there are definitely a few rotten apples.

But the turkey plant, being a good corporate citizen, did the right thing. They loaded up a bunch of the local luminaries onto a corporate jet and flew them to Arkansas on an expense paid junket where they were taught how to appreciate the difference in cultures. One of the junketteers told me, "They even let me fly the Jet!"

Now if they had a shortage of help, I suppose they could have just raised their wages. But they chose this path instead. Like I said earlier, the poor are a commodity.

PS: We're not just importing all of our jobs overseas. We're bring people from overseas to do the few we have left.

Yep, they are called H1B visas but back in the colonial days they were called bond servants. Used to be when I came here you had to advertise the job and prove there were no takers, not any more. They do it so they can pay low wages not because they can't find citizens with the right skills.

Chickens do come home to roost, in a consumer driven economy if you beggar the consumer sooner or later you have a warehouse/store full of product and no customers.
