So they are trying to excuse her behavior by saying she suffered from lead poisoning. Forget the fact that had she just initially complied, she would be alive, getting treatment for her lead poisoning, and her son would have a Mom and not be wounded. Also, if I was the police, I wouldn't shut down the Facebook or Instagram accounts, I would go on them see who was encouraging her to not turn herself in and charge them with at least obstruction. Maybe the really adamant ones with some sort of manslaughter charge since their encouragement to not surrender helped lead to her death. I really feel for that little boy, he lost his Mom, got wounded, and now has a terrible opinion of the police. Hopefully, he can be raised so that he doesn't become a criminal/victim himself later in life.

Understood. It was a hostage situation. Hours passed. then how did they become exposed to the 'business end of a weapon?' I can imagine reasonable and questionable scenearios here. Need light on the matter.

Whether he was willing to be or not, her son was a human shield. And it's important to keep in mind that the cops fired first.

Also, from their previous interaction with her, the cops should have recognized that they were headed for a confrontation with a deranged individual with two small children. They made no preparations for that prior to their arrival.

I seriously doubt the cop that shot her waited for her to point the gun at him. Who puts themselves at that kind of risk to serve a bench warrant? It's not like they had Hannibal Lecter cornered in that apartment.

I'm going to go out on a limb and make another prediction.

There will be, for whatever reason, no body camera or other video evidence of this shooting. We will be expected to buy the cops story about the gun being pointed at him based on his word as "an officer and a gentleman"
