I don't feel used. Rejected by the party for not unthinkingly supporting them, yes.

Pots, you of course are much more sensitive than others to the slights and wrongs you have suffered. I barely remember the slights done me (for the most part), let alone the slights done others. As i was saying, people tend to snap and snarl too much this year. Your friends will clarify if you let them know what offenses you recall, I'm sure. Clear communication either fixes these things, or it at least makes them clearer....
But folks who don't know what you're talking about may make wrong assumptions. The cure for that is letting us know what you're talking about.

I've been thinking about this........sort of........for a while now. For a LONG time people were kept out of the way for us. They were. It's just a fact. And it's not as simple as a "left or right" thing, either. Because people will go with whatever politics help them achieve a given goal. If one side stops serving their interests and the other becomes more amenable, even of it's feigned, simply to pick up votes......they will cross the aisle.
Thus, here am I. By all I've heard, I should to be the "Angry White Male". But, I just don't have the time nor the inclination for anger anymore.
Group by Group, Blacks, Women, Gays.......... They are on the rise, they are standing up. What are they supposed to do? Just quietly accept their place, because seeing them get "uppity" upsets old white guys like me?
I wouldn't.

"FU" (you) and "Spit on" (someone) are reactions.
The text above can be reacted to in lots of ways. You choose your reaction. It is not objectively "FU" or anything else.
It's hard for a person who is attuned to lifetimes of shit endured by non-whites around here to be warm and soft an sympathetic to guys who get a tiny taste and are suddenly shocked and bitterly hurt.
You have a high opinion of what a nice, liberal, wonderful guy your are, and you're hurt if someone isn't fully knowing of that, and is so unjust as to disrespect wonderful you?
It's not all that bad. Try to keep calm and carry on.

Newton's Third Law: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
This is a law of nature and we are seeing it at work. Appeasing one group is bound to bring about an adverse or opposite reaction from the group that feels slighted. And this is a cycle that perpetuates.

I am quit calm but Barb was quite transparent. It's not the first or second post from her we have read.

she's unimportant though
she is not at all what it is about
she's but a distraction

I really am not mad at the dem's.. more like facing the fact that time has changed things and I must walk into the setting sun, alone.
Yeah, it's more a lonely feel. Had I become radicalize I'd still have the tribe but my reason separated me. No one to blame but myself. I was welcome to adapt the mores of the new left but I choose not to.

On the way to full inclusion in American society, a status white males have always enjoyed. What I'm hearing here today sounds like simple jealousy and I have no sympathy for it at all.
What you two are spouting is the essence of Trump's appeal. You guys need to get a grip. The party is over. And that pasty white skin of yours will still earn you a lot of undeserved privilege.

I get it, time is change but I am not dead.

and no, Trump's flag waving fear and doom is not me.
I don't know which convention was worse..... but I do know, both left me out.

I guess you missed all the folks like you in the room that were there precisely because they were like you say you are.
What did you expect, a shoutout specifically for you from folks like you?
We already know who we are and why we are like that, we believe in fairness and a level playing field that doesn't start with a silver spoon and white privelege. We work for a country that realizes it's ideals and is not just a cruel parody of those ideals that depends on a de facto class system to support an elite ruling class.
We are not there, and may never get there in our lifetime, but we have worthy goals in our ideals that should not be abandoned for slights not intended, or imagined.
