All this talk about who is more to the left, will someon please tell me who proposed universal healthcare in Bill's first term? And got shat on by the GOP for her trouble?

You mean who was put in charge of getting it done and failed miserably?

The Dems had a 57-43 majority in the senate and a 270-164 majority in the house when she got that assignment.

Indeed. I used to have health care. Now I can't afford it. the doctor charges $500.00 for a check up now, and my mandatory $8,000 a year insurance policy covers NONE of it. The dems passed a health care bill that pretty much gave away the store (my store) to the insurance companies. I know who the democrats represent and it isn't me.
