The essence is quite obvious to any rational person. She is simply stating historical fact. James Polk called it Manifest Destiny but in actual fact he stole most of the western United States from Mexico at gunpoint. All done under the guise of a "war".

Isn't the misogyny obvious Barbara for women most definitely. The sad part is that the men here think they are fair and open minded with regards to women. Look at all the men who want to regulate women's bodies - strangely the same ones who oppose government regulation. In a way I am relieved that Florence did not live to see this. Suddenly all the good things that Hillary did in her life to date are forgotten and buried simply because she had the temerity to run for the presidency. We must keep that glass ceiling intact at all costs. There are days when I am ashamed of my gender.

The implication is that 'wrongdoing' at that 'border' is not all one way. It suggest that the 'moral authority' of the border is relative and contingent. And it suggests the essence of 'national identity' is at best amoral happenstance.

Merrylander, it has been my observation that there are some here who are very threatened by strong women. This is evidenced by language and tone used in their posts. However, being outnumbered in the gender department.... I've been reluctant to point that out.

Those who are most guilty will deny the accusation the most. 😉
