Bob is right. I could never expect back in the 90s when all the Republicans hated Hillary so much that she would some day be tagged as an establishment DINO herself. Anyway Sanders did not win. So compared to the Trump platform Hillary's platform will be tons better. So of course I will vote for her.
Both Trump and to a lesser extent Sanders play on division, although to be fair Sanders is fighting for economic equality as opposed to Trump's xenophobia. But we don't need division right now. Although Hillary may be a divisive figure I have a hope she can reach across the aisle and get some stuff done. Our nation needs that first before we can get some more progressive stuff done. And I honestly believe if a $15 minimum wage bill ever reached her desk she would sign it. The problem is getting it to desk of the President. And Bernie got it in the platform.
Take a look at Britain right now. It seems like the voters in anger sort of put a knife in the British economy. I don't know if there was anger at the banks there but now the UK's position as the financial center of Europe is not as strong as it was before and that hurts everyone in that country, rich or poor. And it hurts American exports because now American goods are more expensive there, cheaper trips to Trump's golf course notwithstanding. Sanders standing in front of thousands of people promising to break up Wall Street is sort of an American Brexit in my eyes. Plus I am sure that cost him votes in NYC during his primary run there.
American reform has come from the elite before. The legislation that made our SS checks possible was signed into law by a super establishment blue blood old rich scion from upper state New York who was wealthy beyond the imaginations of most Americans a century ago. I don't care if Hillary is rich, and I think we will do much better with her than Trump.
