TAILS a secure OS if you are paranoid

If you are concerned about security there is a Linux distro that runs off of a USB thumb drive called TAILS. It spoofs your mac address so if you are in Starbucks no one can get into your system because it uses a browser called TOR. You use normal firefox (not safe) to log into the local store wifi, then switch to TOR for anonymous browsing. You can leave Windows 7 on your hard drive because TAILS runs from the USB stick. I have been able to log into my bank but you will be prompted with those security questions because the bank's server does not associate the mac address spoof with the normal addresses you usually use at home.

I have not been able to log into PC with TAILS or TOR because of the strict spam/spoof guards though. Can't get into Ebay either.

So if you do banking at Starbucks TAILS might be a good way to sign into your bank.

It is sort of a PITA to set up you might need 2 thumb drives depending on your OS.
It helps to know some stuff about linux. You can encrypt the thumb drive with a password,
and must set up root password (admin) everytime you log in but that is a good thing for security...you don't have to really do this unless you are installing a new program or accessing the Windows hard drive.
