I wondered when somebody would cut through all the bullshit and clean their glasses.

Who are they?

They are old people who are comfortable with the status quo.

They have their Social Security, Medicare, and defined benefit pensions or fat 401K's and are retired and have nothing better to do than vote to keep things like they are, so that they can continue to live off the fruits of the labor of the younger Bernie voters that are getting screwed.

I meet the profile of a Hillary voter. I haven't done a days work since October of 2007. Now you could argue that I've earned my Social Security, Medicare, and Pension, and I would sure as Hell agree with you, but I also know that all of the goods and services that I consume everyday in my reasonably comfortable life is being produced by the work of others, younger people for the most part, many of whom are being royally screwed by the system so much that they stand much less of a chance than I did.

Well-said Tom, and I'm afraid I've just discovered that one of my parents and one step-parent fall under the category of what you described in the bold part, above. I was shocked when they announced they're moving to Canada if Trump or Bernie wins (the Bernie part was what shocked me). But they're well-off, comfortably retired, and frankly, out of touch with how screwed we are as a nation if there's not fundamental change, and soon. After the sting of their comment wore off, I realized what was behind it. If you're doing well, and - I'm really sad to say this - somewhat selfish with regard to everyone else, you don't really want to shake things up.

Beat me to retirement by three months. Sure beats working.

We don't earn Social Security or Medicare which are pay as you go schemes implemented by the ruling class to keep the headcount at bay. Otherwise, you nailed it.
