I am all about reconciliation Beamon.

Please join me in celebrating Hillary's victory yesterday, and everyone feel free to post positive comments here in my thread about Hillary's upcoming victory this Tuesday....

I would suggest you read the first volume of Caro's Path To Power (I need to read the rest of them).

Anyone who makes it to the Presidency has achieved success.

Their Presidencies ended in failure which each helped bring about.

I would suggest you finish what you begin.

I would not call Medicare a failure.

My point is Trump is vacuous intellectually. All these Presidents who achieve great things build coalitions. Trump has built a stool with one leg...angry white voters. That won't stand. If he was really smart and believed in say building a wall across the southern border he would understand he would have to build a coalition first before he could ever build his wall. Insulting potential members of a coalition is pretty stupid. Luckily for America Trump is his own worst enemy.

Where did I say Medicare is a failure?

Trump is really smart. To think otherwise is foolish.

I doubt if Trump really gets how 'Head of State' differs from 'CEO.' If a business deal goes bad you walk away and do something else; in the worst case you declare bankruptcy. Neither of these escapes works for 'Head of State' problems.

Trump is used to getting what he wants, mostly through coercion and intimidation would be my guess. He is also a very good showman and a salesman since he does have a reputation for being a deal maker. Is he a smart money manager? Jury is still out from what I have read.

Would these attributes work in a political system such as in the US? No. So it's not a matter of underestimating him, he is simply ill equipped.

Many times he just goes ahead and does whatever he wants and then dares people to sue him. His deep pockets make him pretty "judgment-proof". This, in a head of state, can frankly lead to war and, at the same time, cause one to shed allies at the time they're most needed.

Sure Trump is smart. But he also really may believe in his heart of hearts that Obama was born in Africa.

You want somebody like that holding the football?
