Wall Street is the banking capital and heart of our economy. Why do you think both Bush and Obama saved it?
You and I are partners in the system. You do not even realize it.
I am not against regulation but if we were to go in and try to demolish the banks it may drive even more businesses to leave us for other shores in even greater numbers.
By the way the youth vote did not help Bernie in Nevada yesterday. Not enough to win anyway.
The government gives a tax subsidy to home owners who buy houses with credit supplied by banks (Wall Street). These banks receive loans from the Federal Reserve (discount rate) so as to make loans and create money so as to stimulate the American economy. If you own a home you are a partner with the banking system (Wall Street).

Bernie doesn't want to "demolish" banks. He wants to restructure them in much the same way as they were back in the '50s, '60s and '70s when investment banks and commercial banks were separate and the failure of one bank couldn't "demolish" the global economy.

I am a participant in the system, not a partner. Partner implies that I either have a vested interest or a say in how the business operates. You are beginning to sound like a politician.

Thanks for your post John, fact that Bush and Obama had to bail out with tax payer money because the banks are too big to fail. Let's make them smaller then and regulate some of the derivatives. Want to gamble? go to Las Vegas or Monaco.

True!
He wants to minimize the possibility of the rascals running off with the loot and then calling on tax payers to rescue under the threat of "too big to allow to fail".

I wonder if that was the same concert where he fell off the stage into the orchestra pit?
I know it happened in the UK.
Would be embarrassing to fall after saying something like that lol.
