All the lakes and rivers are froze over up here, and I'm sure you'd think this is hell- the place is full of self-reliant gun-toting conservatives who speak their mind, oil and mining is big business, and we have Sarah Palin in da house.
So, I'm sure Trump appreciates your vote!

Gee.... I always thought Alaska was one of the more beautiful states we have.... Kinda like a heaven on earth. Can't help who decides to live there.

... with their hands held out for their (unearned) share of the Alaskan permanent fund.

That's quite true. Fortunately, people like you usually don't decide to live here.
PinkStreak Dave asked a long time ago what was so great about Alaska. I told him "for one thing, you're not here".

Dividends from an investment fund. Do you not have any investments that earn a dividend? Perhaps you should look into it.
Not to worry, our politicians are well on their way toward stealing the permanent fund too.

Of course I do. However, you didn't invest a dime in the Permanent Fund. It's a government handout, something conservatives are against unless they're the ones getting it.

It is not a government handout, it's the property of the citizens. Conservatives are for a limited government and keeping more money in the hands of the citizens where it won't be wantonly wasted.
Alaska is now at the point where the oil revenues can no longer sustain the enormous bloated government it created. If a small portion of the revenues had not been kept from them, the bloat would be even larger right now, but there would be no kitty to steal from to keep it afloat.

In other words, the free ride is nearly over. Welcome to the real world.
