Good ole Ted has Jeff Roe, the dirtiest political adviser I have ever met, on his campaign staff as a lead adviser. Jeff makes a pit bull in full mauling mode look nice. Jeff will stop at nothing, and I mean NOTHING, in an all out effort to allow his client to win. You have seen his genius at work in Iowa...

My view is that he was a US citizen from the moment of birth, so he is not a naturalized citizen, worse luck. Some lawyers are arguing otherwise, of course, but that's what lawyers do.

Yes but not a natural born citizen. My youngest granddaughter was born in Canada of an American mother so she also is a naturalized citizen.

Frex although I was born in Canada because it is a member of the Commonwealth I would be at home in England.

Did she have to go through the things you went through to become a citizen, the applications, the interviews, the oath, etc?

Of course not but then my mother was not an American citizen, and being married to an American citizen it was really quite simple.

Then your granddaughter's not a naturalized citizen. Naturalization is the process that you underwent.

Your granddaughter is a citizen by birthright under the principle of jus sanguinis, or right by blood. In this case the blood would be that of her mother, a US citizen.
