Klein is pretty smart. He was on MSNBC a lot in the good old days. He is an excellent commentator.

Fucken Cuba has it for Christ's sake.
We're the only Goddamned first world country that doesn't have it.
And you know why?
Because politicians like Hillary Clinton have sold their souls to the Health Care Industrial Complex in return for campaign contributions.

When the American people elect a President, a House of Representatives with a Democratic majority, and a Democratic Senate with a filibuster-proof majority then we may be ready for single payer.

That's about it. Sad though that GOP can't see it that way. So much for being the party of fiscal responsibility.

Good luck.
Meanwhile the rightwing Wall St. Journal has a piece out on this today.

You elect Bernie, then he gets two years to make the case for removing the obstruction of the House. He might do it, too.

The House is so gerrymandered, I don't see the way to it Don. We're phucked until the next census.
That's why I'll take a rearguard action over betting the farm on Bernie.

At my part-time job on Saturday a co-worker told me that under single payer heart by-passes (CABGs) would not be performed on people over 65 since it would be "not worth it" to sort of paraphrase. So be careful what you wish for TJ since you are not under warranty anymore!

That's funny but true.

There is nothing inherent in a single payer health care system that would make the above true.

But Icenine's co-worker says so! How can you question that? Surely that person must have certain knowledge. Otherwise they could be spreading propaganda, distortions, and lies.

It's that good old "death panel" wheeze refusing to go away is all.
And conversely, there's nothing inherent in a selective healthcare system like ours that would rule out "death panels". Quite the contrary.
