I don't "hate" the bible but I don't regard it as "gospel." (pun intended) To the extent that I'm critical of its message, it's because it contains crap like "an eye for an eye" or celebrates the wiping out of entire cities and their people "in God's name."

In case you're wondering, I don't believe in God and consider the Judeo/Christian/Islamic tradition to be the wholly invented cosmology and cultural mythology of a bunch of bloodthirsty bronze age nomads.

All the Abrahamic religions suck. The saving grace of Christianity is the new testament.. otherwise it's a hate filled piece of garbage. I'm ignorant if the actual Jewish texts.. they don't seem to conduct themselves like Isis or the southern Baptist churches or Calvins Geneva. If they did. If have nothing but contempt for them too.

Most of the trouble in the world comes from sheep runners, and Abraham is the big daddy of the bunch.

HBO should do one of their long family drama series things about Abraham and his family building their sheep empire.

History is written by the winners or revised at a later era. So treating a 2000 year old history as fact maybe a bit of a stretch.

I don't see all that much difference between the old and new testament. The new testament...a cheesy marketing scheme, to use a modern term, gone viral. The followers of Jesus lose their revolutionary leader to the tag team of the government of Rome and conservative Jew religious leaders.

Fearing the death of their movement they concoct this fantabulous story of stones rolling away and the son of god resurrected from the dead.

And the holy, pious, unwashed superstitious buy into it like present day Americans bought into Saddam=Osama and Iraq=Al-qaeda.

The old vs the new, hate vs lies. Pick 'em.

1. Arguments from history may be carefully sourced and closely reasoned, using detailed analysis to derive well-qualified general sociological truths.

2. Or, they may be mere appropriations of the 'authority' of history to support any damn thing one wants.

Are you claiming to have some type 1 stuff, Ike? How about a link to a source with a bibliography and stuff.
