It's a new label that libitards just made up to have another little box to put people in to vilify.

Do you have a clue regarding the hypocrisy of the above statement?

Oh, I see;

Tenth Amendment - Reserved Powers. Amendment Text | Annotations. The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

"........or to the people.", is the rub. How do "the people" wield their "power"? Through their vote. They elect officials into or out of government office by majority.

So, if a majority of the people vote for say, expansion of rights in some way (Gay marriage for example.), or an expansion f government influence, (The ACA as an example.) this is government by consent. Soooo...............

These "tenthers" think that "the people" haven't the power to grant expansions of law or authority? They sure can. That's what the 10th is telling you. The government can't go beyond what's enumerated in the Constitution without the consent of the people................

If you get what you didn't vote for, or don't get what you wanted that's just how it is. If you don't vote, then f**k you, you get what the rest of us choose for you.

Just because the guys in your barbershop quartet are pissed about Gay marriage doesn't mean the Constitution has been torn asunder and America is dead.

Quite the contrary.

The name is based on the 10th Amendment, the last amendment in the Bill of Rights. The text of the amendment is as follows.

Quote:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
Tenthers believe that this gives the states or individuals permission to ignore any law or oppose any federal program for which the rationale or justification isn't specifically spelled out in the Constitution. They define these things as narrowly as possible. It pretty much boils down to being opposed to anything the federal government has done post-1789.

Ever run into people who the Articles of Confederation are the true law of the land............simply because they came first?

Gotta love the mentality of that. "Whatever came before ____ is the true article!"....

So, how far back should we go?

Radical Islamists have their ideas on that.

There are Christians who think that the Bible is the "Law of God" and supersedes everything that came after it.

Then, there's the Torah..................

Hoo, BOY!

Then there are the Christians who believe that Catholicism is false..... because it came first.

See, their brand of Christianity is the true one because it's the "new improved model".

The "new improved model" of that which is absolute truth, the word of an eternal and everlasting god whose word is perfection.............

Until the next revision, that is. Then we disregard the "absolute truth" we held as gospel last Sunday and move on to the new unshakable Word of God as approved by the Church of Eternally Unchanging Dogmas 12th Central Council of Elders.

Ha, Ha! I love it!!!!
