According to the FBI murders have decreased over the last 6 years, while according to Gallup, personal firearm ownership has been on the rise. Look at the number of homicides between handguns vs rifles and I wonder why we are so up in arms over "assault" style rifles instead of handguns. Seems we really don't care about facts, unless of course they fit our mindset. Then we can defend the way we think while trying to invalidate other sources.

How do we reduce gun related violence/deaths, Dan?
Just answer the fucking question.

No Dave it's not a separate issue, death is death and what causes it is open to decision as it's what the left is saying they want to stop by taking guns away.
If that's trully the case we should outlaw cars and cell phones and drinking before going after gun owners.
I wouder how many people die in a bath tube each year.

Why do you feel you "Need" to Dave?
Is it because it's a wast of life?

I find it ironic whenever the left gets up in arms and starts talking about stepping on peoples rights to own guns, gun sales go up.
The sales really are, not for people who already are gun owners, you know the responsible ones who have used them in their whole life. Generally, it's two people that never cared in the first place if they had one or not, or a young person that just became of age. I feel that later do it on impulse which is the wrong reason.
A gun owner IMHO should grow into it and get trained slowly. A friend or family member that knows guns and how to treat them can help. going out and using their guns to learn with. I shot guns and loaded bullets for them many years before ever buy one. I had a friend who had many guns and if we were going shooting or hunting, I would pick one of his guns and load for it.
The point is that it used to be something that was handed down in training and knowlege, something you grow into.

Wow. I shouldn't even have to answer that question.
It answers itself.
Your callous attitude in asking it, speaks volumes about the utterly rancid and evil nature of your character.
So, everybody should just get used to senseless, deliberate violence facilitated by easy access to deadly weapons?
Thank you for helping to turn my country into a global embarrassment and keeping it that way. You're a real peach, you and all of the other gun-loving shitheads.

Right............. Everyone "should" do this or that;
But it isn't happening. We have what we have and what we have is shit.
So, what do we do about it? Just shrug, say "Stuff happens" and accept it? To hell with that.
Tell me; How do you propose ensuring all of the things you describe actually happen, without a bunch of intransigent assholes from the gun lobby blocking any and every attempt?

The ironic behavior you describe is part of the insanity of the right. They are so utterly convinced that they must have these weapons to survive, that they stock up when they feel threatened by any potential expansion of gun control.
It's called "paranoia".....a mental disorder.

So, firearms training will prevent psychopathic crazies from killing people? Though I've been a gun owner for ~50 years and a NRA Hunter Safety instructor, I've never seen any evidence that firearms training prevents or cures mental illness. It may help them hit their targets, but it will do little else.

Nearly 8,000 people are killed in crashes involving drivers ages 16-20
Road crashes cost the U.S. $230.6 billion per year, or an average of $820 per person
Road crashes are the single greatest annual cause of death of healthy U.S. citizens traveling abroad
http://asirt.org/initiatives/informi...ash-statistics
Alcohol-Related Crashes: In 2013, 10,076 people were killed in alcohol-impaired driving crashes (any fatal crash involving a driver with a blood-alcohol content (BAC) of 0.08 percent or higher), down 2.5 percent from 10,336 in 2012. Of the persons who were killed in traffic crashes in 2013, 31 percent died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes. In 2010, drunk driving alone accounted for 18% of the total economic loss from motor vehicle crashes, costing the economy as much as $199 billion in direct and quality-of-life losses
Cell Phone Use: In April 2014, NHTSA released the results of the latest National Occupant Protection Use Survey (NOPUS), which found that in 2012, 1.5 percent of drivers were text-messaging or visibly manipulating hand-held devices, up from 1.3 percent in 2011. NHTSA says that the 2012 increase was not statistically significant. Driver use of hand-held cellphones was 5 percent in 2012 for the fourth year running. Hand-held cellphone use was highest among 16- to 24-year olds (6 percent in 2012) and lowest among drivers 70 and older (1 percent in 2012).
A State Farm study released in late 2012 found that among drivers age 18 to 29, almost half (48 percent) accessed the Internet on a cell phone while driving. One-third of those drivers (36 percent) read social media networks while driving. Almost half of those drivers (43 percent) checked their email while driving. Other age groups engaged in these activities less frequently.

Dave, we need to take peoples Cars, Phones and Booz away if in fact the only reason for taking guns away is to stop deaths. The fact is it's the operator not the tool, you can't controll the actions of people at a given moment. As our population grows so does everything that causes death and that's just part of life. The problem is the left wants to controll everyones life and that's not freedom, not even close.

Typical lefty tactic when your theory makes no sense, Viify Others. I help everyone and anyone I can, even your sorry ass if you need it.
Why are the lefties not all worked up over deaths from the use of cars, alcohol and cell phones? We have a far easier access to them and they cause a far greater death rate.
