And here again his ego in full display whether you take him seriously or not. Is this all an act or is this for real? some excerpts from his speech in Iowa.
Quote:
Trump complained that it’s especially hard for him to make speeches because his every word is being broadcast on many TV networks. “I’m working my ass off,” he said of this appearance. “Every night I’m on live television. Every night — CNN, Fox, MSNBC, NBC. Look at them! They’re all live. It’s not fair!

“And by the way, they’re getting great ratings. That’s why they’re live,” he continued. “They don’t pay me anything, for the debate. We had 24 million people. Normally they have 2 million, if they’re lucky. I won’t take credit for it, but, believe me, 100% of it is me.”
Then some humility, this guy is a riot.
Quote:
No Trump speech would be complete without a plug for his 1987 book Trump: The Art Of The Deal. This time he called it the second-best book in history – “second only to the Bible.”

He thought to add: “Deep, deep second – it’s not even close.”
I really think guy is putting on a hell of show, an unscripted reality show and the audience is loving it. There is some good in what he is saying.

If he was aiming his gun at South Asians instead of Latinos would there still be some good in what he is saying?

The evidence would seem to contradict that. Every time Trump does something outrageous, his lead in the polls increases. The more he reveals himself to be an obnoxious hateful buffoon, the more popular he becomes. The other candidates know this. That's why, increasingly, they're adopting his tactics.

Yes I am afraid to believe you are correct because it says a very bad thing about America right now. What I meant to imply is that a long decay of Trump will put the GOP in such a bad light that Romney's 47 percent remark looks like a slip of the tongue. The Democrats will have many weapons to use against whoever the GOP nominates in 2016. Not that this abhorrent descent of the GOP is a good thing for the USA.

Well it says a lot since it took an "obnoxious hateful buffoon" to counter the
disappearance of the word "illegal".

That long decay might culminate in a catastrophic Trump presidency.

Both parties are in disarray. The difference is that the Republicans have a candidate whose popularity is (inexplicably) growing, while the Democratic frontrunner is fading with nobody on the horizon ready to take over.

Unless a video of Trump eating live babies comes to light, he will be the Republican nominee. Unless a viable Democratic nominee emerges to challenge him, he will be president.

I want to be more optimistic,

Maybe most of the country is center left, and the right wing of the GOP is waking up to the fact that their party will not be able to win the Presidency, and their "hail mary" embrace of Trump is just that, and next year normal America pushes Hillary into office. That is what I HOPE is happening.

Rajoo, if the Yahoo article you linked to is an example of the "some good" you detect, we have very different concepts of good. I found Trump's rhetoric in that article to be thoroughly disgusting and, frankly, frightening. The idea of Trump's army of "horrible nasty killers" implementing his agenda should be enough to give us all nightmares.

She will then appoint two Supreme Court justices, the SCOTUS will repeal Citizens United and America will be once more a land of milk and honey. I too am optimistic.

My comment was misconstrued. I appreciate the way Trump is going after the entrenched interests, specifically the Super PAC's. In two short months all of the money backing Bush, Walker or Cruz seems to have very little effect. Is it just because Trump is monopolizing media attention? In my opinion, Trump is an apology for a human being. I have never taken him seriously but am enjoying his antics. I do not watch any TV other than movies so I only get to read about this.
