WASHINGTON (AP) — Tucked away at his family home in Delaware, Vice President Joe Biden has been huddling with longtime aides and family members, evaluating what it would take to launch a viable presidential campaign against well-funded Democratic opponents with a huge head start.

Although Biden has yet to make a decision, his advisers say the vice president and his associates have started gaming out mechanics like fundraising, ballot deadlines and an early primary state strategy. Also under consideration are the personal consequences for Biden and his family, who are still mourning the death of the vice president's son, Beau Biden, a few months ago.

Much of the deliberation has taken place this week at the Bidens' house in a secluded, wooded suburb of Wilmington, said several Biden aides, who requested anonymity because they weren't authorized to discuss the meetings publicly. In recent days, longtime Biden confidantes Mike Donilon and former Sen. Ted Kaufman have spent time there, along with Biden's grandson, Hunter Biden, and his sister, Valerie Owens Biden, who has played a top role in all his previous campaigns.

Only if he can persuade Hillary to drop out of the race since she is now toxic for the Democratic party. One cannot dismiss the email issue since it now has a life on it's own and the FBI is now looking into it. This will stay alive for months to come, probably throughout this election season.

Independents will not vote for Hillary or not vote at all. With the debacle in the GOP primary, no goodwill points are being scored by the Democrats either. Wonder why?

Who's to say that Joe isn't trying to convince Warren to run? It has to figure among the more likely reasons for the meeting.

To be sure and in fact Biden may not be a very good candidate after all. I am for a robust Democratic primary process and hoping that HRC gets derailed in the process.

Looks more and more like Biden is going to jump in. Wonder what this would do to Sander's candidacy. Probably he will be the Ron Paul of the Democratic party.

Democratic presidential candidate Martin O'Malley said he had a "great deal of respect" for Biden.

"It would be nice to have at least one more lifelong Democrat in the race," the former Maryland governor told ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos.

The comment was partially a reference to independent Senator Bernie Sanders, a self-declared soci@list from Vermont, who is also seeking the Democratic nomination.

Also perhaps a dig at Hillary, the former "Goldwater Girl".

And Bernie is not a "declared soci@list". He's a declared democratic soci@list. There's a f#$king difference, Reuters!
