A new Economist/YouGov poll released on Friday actually showed Trump gaining support in the last week, despite a controversy over his comments questioning Sen. John McCain's (R-Arizona) status as a "war hero."

According to the poll, the number of registered Republican primary voters whose responded that Trump is their first choice jumped from 15% at the beginning of July to 28% last week. Another 10% of voters pick him as their second choice.

That puts the real-estate magnate far ahead of the next Republican candidate, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), as well as Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R), who saw his numbers jump following his campaign announcement earlier this month.

The poll comes only a week after many analysts declared that Trump's comments about McCain would mark a turning point in his campaign.

I may need to go back to my Trump avatar. In a way he is helping by outing the demagoguery of the GOP and providing camouflage for HRC's campaign. There is now going to be a criminal investigation into here email fiasco.

The NY Times appears to have jumped the gun (or shark) in their calling it a "criminal investigation" of Hillary yesterday.

The private e-mail system, maintained outside of direct government control, is a reminder of the investigations that were a constant feature of her husband’s presidency. It also has invited questions about whether she bent rules or regarded herself as above them, feeding voter unease about her trustworthiness.

This is quite worrisome to me and I suspect to a lot of other independents.

Walker is a walking, talking poster child for what is wrong with the Republican Party today. Yes, they're going to build a stronger America by throttling it's neck for every bit of oxygen (Money) they can prevent from reaching the brain (Education). They're going to make America great by putting it's muscles (Working class) into atrophy (Low wages.). They're going to grease the wheels of Capitalism by allowing the path before it (Infrastructure) to crumble and decay. They're going to address violence by seeing to it that every idiot, criminal and lunatic in the country has free, unfettered access to whatever weaponry their hearts desire...............Which can always be countered with more guns, more prisons and militarized law enforcement....... Yeah, looks like "freedom" to me.

But, hey.......... At least a handful of billionaires might get to keep more of their money, so it's all good.
