In Saudi Arabia one can be executed for heresy - heresy being public statements that are inconsistent with strict Islam. Such executions still occur. Makes one appreciate the separation of church and state doesn't it? I'd hate to have Sidearm Sarah in charge of orthodoxy.

Here's a delicious little scam for you...Since I'm a natural-born American, white, & upper-middle class, I'm apparently NOT entitled to all the boodle 'n' swag any illegal that comes here & drops a baby is entitled to...Wonder how it would work if I renounced my citizenship, knocked up one of the local legion of sluts, & then claimed asylum ?!? I DO have a bum knee, & there ARE some residual effects from the stroke, all I'd have to do is cry 'n' whine 'n' drool a bit to a sympathetic caseworker, maybe slip him/her/it a little back under the table & I'm in like Flint....I wouldn't REALLY do all that, but I betcha it COULD be done....

Some history, Erricson provided the Saudi telephone equipment but Bell Canada International was contracted to set up the day to day running because we were (still are I guess) the most efficient telephone company in the world.

Our people over there were told that on the day of public execution it would be wise to stay inside the hotel or compound. They said that feelings tended to run high on those days.
