Two brothers dead in Hudson shooting, one wounded

Just another day in Paradise.

Quote:
HUDSON — An argument over food turned fatal Wednesday evening when a 13-year-old boy shot and killed his 6-year-old brother before turning the handgun on himself, according to preliminary information from Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco.

Before killing himself, the 13-year-old also shot and wounded his 16-year-old brother, Nocco said. The 16-year-old called authorities at 6:19 p.m. and was transported from his Hudson home to a hospital with a gunshot wound that is not considered life-threatening.

"This is a horrific scene," Nocco said. "This is a nightmare when you hear about the ages of these boys, a 6-year-old that was probably playing in his room, an argument over food and he lost his life."

The mother of the three boys was at work when the shooting occurred. A fourth son, who is 18, was not at the home.

No doubt we need more guns to keep this sort of thing from happening.

I certainly feel safe in Kansas. The legislature just passed a concealed carry law that permits concealed carry with no permit and no training. Just buy a gun and stick it in your pocket.

In a decent country the parent or parents who had guns and ammunition in the house that were accessible would go to prison. For a long time.

Whadaya mean!?

The problem was not enough guns!

Only one gun for three kids?

That's a recipe for disaster!

They all should have had guns!

Then they would be equal.

Like the man said, "An armed society is a polite society".

Mom had grounded the 6 year old and 16 year old from their guns for backtalking her in front of the neighbors.

Alabama speaks.

The unwillingness of our society (not you two radicals) to hold adults responsible for negligent gun ownership can be downright scary. IIRC someone posted something about possible Texas legislation that would allow open carry for a CHL holder. An uncomforting thought.

It remains to be seen how silly this shit is going to get before the pendulum swings back. Hope we don't go all the way back to Wild West. I'd hate to have to carry a full-sized automatic around, and continually spend money on practice cartridges and range time.

During our Wild West period a person living in Hell's Kitchen would've been more likely to see extreme violence than someone living in the Wild West.

How would many of our extremely poor urban areas compare to HK on the same parameter?

The problem is though that Hollywood glamorized the Wild West as did TV. In truth it was a hell of a lot worse than depicted.
