I remember talking to the wife of a cop and she was incensed at the hypothetical prospect of her ever being issued a ticket. For anything. She earnestly felt it was within the job description of a cop to allow the cop and entire family to do as they damned please. Simple violations, misdemeanors and minor felonies are not servable.

Could not have been more sincere nor dumfounded that I disagreed.
