Earlier this year, Fox News chief Roger Ailes boasted of Fox News’s factual perfection, saying that in “15 years we have never taken a story down because it was wrong. You can’t say that about CNN, CBS or the New York Times.”

In other words, they intend to mislead their audience so see no reason to take down anything...... ever.

The shots came from a grassy knoll away from the protesters... At least some shell casings were found. I'm guessing a match .22 target pistol.

The chief of the St. Louis County Police Department walked back earlier statements that the person who shot two Ferguson police officers Wednesday was targeting police.

“It’s kind of really hard to speculate what kind of nexus may or may not have existed between the shooters and any individual who would have been out there,” said Chief Jon Belmar at a press conference Friday.

That was a significant departure from what Belmar, who is leading the investigation into the shootings, said in the immediate aftermath: “These police officers were standing there and they were shot, just because they were police officers.”

On Friday, though, he said that the officers, who have not been named publicly, were perhaps “just kind of in the way.” That seemed to raise the possibility that it was prtoesters, not police, who were the intended targets.
