Here is a great example of how St. Louis cops utilize their new cameras...to make sure a potential bad guy gets summarily released.

"Hey guys, before you kick the crap out of that dude, make sure you turn your cameras off."

I shit you not, these cops are dumber than mollusks!

Bufford was named on a felony charge of unlawful use of a weapon and a misdemeanor of resisting arrest. Lab results later showed just under four grams of marijuana were recovered. The charges were dropped Aug. 26.

Schwartz said it was because the tape contradicted the police report.

But a circuit attorney’s spokeswoman, Susan Ryan, disputed that, saying Friday the case was dismissed because “the action of turning off the dash cam video diminished the evidentiary merits of the case.” She also said a review showed the officers did not break the law, although prosecutors notified police Internal Affairs about the video being stopped.

1. No laws broken by police.
2. Four GRAMS? That's "out of pot."

This is merely a convenient case drop with feel good trimmings. Metaphorically, time served, yadda yadda.

IA won't even put down their collective coffee mug, there's nothing here.

Not unless IA or the watch commander is interested in doing something about a 53' trailerload of stupid. Perhaps stupid is not something anybody needs to be concerned about regarding law enforcement.

It's already established that "no laws were broken by police."

CASE CLOSED.

Yet as was noticed here in PC last year - we are a nation of laws - nobody said anything about justice.

In our system, justice is served as a huge portion of dumb luck.

Cop speak...no laws were broken.

The case is really not closed as some here would like to believe, au contraire.

Quote:
Outgoing U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder this week hinted that the Justice Department could join more than a dozen St. Louis, Missouri area residents in a lawsuit against local law enforcement agencies for racially discriminatory practices used by officers. While federal officials are unlikely to bring civil rights charges against former Ferguson police Officer Darren Wilson for the shooting death of Michael Brown last August, a lawsuit against the police department could spur reforms in policing nationwide, some civil rights leaders have said.

And the beat goes on. I believe that we are a nation of laws and whereas we may not get due justice, we are far better at combating injustice than most other countries.
