The same crowd pushing the class warfare angle has to ignore a whole lot: like the fact that the city where this guy lives has no job because the economic conditions have been devastated by years of mis-management, graft and corruption. They ignore that the economy in this state is rebounding, but fell far behind the rest of the nation years ago and still has a ways to go. They ignore that the folks who are reaching out to help this guy are mostly average folks who happen to have big hearts. They ignore the fact that Robertson actually likes his job and therefore hasn't missed a day of work, and is someone who is trying hard to do the right thing in an environment where there are plenty of incentives not to.

Typical.
The next statement: He walks 21 miles, surely you can do it too.

Trying to do the right thing? It is bogus!

Bullshit.

There are plenty of homeless people sleeping in cardboard boxes under the overpasses. If they can do it, so can you.

It's funny how you guys take a media "feel good" story about a guy dedicated enough to his long-term job that he chooses to walk and take a bus to work when his car breaks down (and subsequently spurs a charity drive to help him when he doesn't even want such help) and extrapolate it into a tale of the non-caring ways of our country and its employers.

All media "feel good" stories have a certain element of bullshit to them. That said, I'm not willing to take this single anecdote of a guy's car breaking down and use it to make a larger point about the obvious greed of corporate America. YMMV.

Was it as funny as the way you implied that he was a dumbass for not moving closer to his work?

I made no such claim. I said he chose his job and his domicile and was seemingly happy with both. Good for him.
