We got 245 years of slavery to make up for. Which puts the legitimate white American guilt out to at least the year 2110.

No American alive today ever owned a man or -- to refer to my heritage -- made families walk to Oklahoma at gunpoint.

In many ways, the projected guilt is worse than any actual slight, today: it is demeaning.

Michael Brown got shot because he was a thug. Nobody white should feel a damned but guilty. If I act like Michael Brown? I get shot. I wouldn't expect anyone to feel guilt about my personal dumbassery.

But minorities always have to be victims, we can't ever actually be accountable...

If you really feel that way, get yourself down to the 'hood and put in 40 hours/week of pro bono work. Better yet, do my share and put in 80 hours.

What but white guilt makes y'all so defensive when white guilt is mentioned?

Now I'm not for being guilty over what our ancestors did, but I think we've got plenty of current stuff to feel guilty over....

Help yourself.

I believe in being considerate and fair to my fellow citizens. OTOH, I don't do so out of a sense of guilt, nor do I allow someone to guilt-trip me into supporting expensive, counter-productive causes, or perpetuate programs that have outlived their usefulness. YMMV.

I'm about to feel guilty about excessive behavior to appease taste bud and other addictions.

Last year's release? It comes here once a year about now now (not here yet) and is quickly gone.

Nope, this year's release. Got lucky as it flies off the shelves around here. Picked up a bottle of the 10 year 107 proof also.
