I just ran across a Dave Barry-ism at AK...
"I argue very well. Ask any of my remaining friends. I can win an argument on any topic, against any opponent. People know this, and steer clear of me at parties. Often, as a sign of their great respect, they don't even invite me."

Meanwhile, articles about Ferguson have taken up an average of three pages each day for the past week here in cowtown, and ferguson legislation is projected to dominate the five month state legislative session.

What sorts of legislation? Would you characterize it as oppressive or is it intended to address the underlying inequities and racial tension?

They will try to revise the use of deadly force statute, debtors prison, municipality revenues derived from tickets, busing, provisional school certifications, gerrymandering, and a host of other smaller issues. It will be very interesting, as the outstate rural republicans have a veto proof majority, but they realize they need to pass some significant reforms quite quickly.
We are breaking out the popcorn.

Back on December 1st, someone on this forum, I forget who, said this would be a completely dead issue in 90 days or less.
