I probably should have added that GHW had a great big pile of manure left on his plate by the Reaganauts and the evangelistas but given his bluenosed Yalie Connecticut upbringing and his tenure in the CIA, I was loath to trust him. I did appreciate how he handled the first Gulf war, it took great big balls not to press his luck by heading into Iraq after Swartzkopf cleared Saddam's Republican guard out of Kuwait.
No offense Pat but the gaping hole left for Obama to fill was magnitudes worse than what Old Man Bush faced and Obie won twice by some pretty historic numbers.
He's more moderate Republican than anything else, imo. That's his real problem and well, the wack right 'baggers in the House and Senate.

I like Obama as a person and generally agree with his policies, at least when compared to those of today's GOP, particularly the Tea Party wing (to the extent they have any policies). He just lacks the experience and executive/leadership skills to get the job done. Not everyone is cut out to be a good executive. In fact, few are. The gutlessness/fecklessness of the Congressional Democrats didn't exactly help his cause either.

We can disagree on issues but you don't have a head fulla concrete and rebar like some of the other conservomaniac guys and gals I run across. It must be your engineering background or something, (other than the heavy metals leached by acid rain in that Maryland drinking water you folks have.)
