mmmm, OK I looked at your link. Looks to me like the cops cornered them and not tried negotiating or just letting them go to a safer place to aprehend. I see an epic fail of "Protect and Serve" and maybe a violation of the lady murdered by police's civil rights.

If a subject opens fire, the goal is always to make that cease as immediately as possible.

At that point, significantly more than a single life is in play.

If you place the populous in danger through criminal activity, I don't perceive what is to "sort?"

Why not use an RPG then?

Seems to me Zeke...that as the American legal system is supposed to follow the principle that it's better to let a hundred guilty go free than to convict a single innocent...law enforcement should behave such that it's better to let a hundred thugs get away than for a single innocent bystander or hostage to die in an attempt at apprehension.

Reckon what your attitude has been about all the innocent Iraqi children who ended up with smart bombs in their ear because an actual bad guy was hiding in the next apartment? Seems to me it's an abomination when it's Israeli Jews behind such action it, but when it's an American cop it's all so reasonable and understandable...heroic even. Very convenient of you Zeke.

Sure, so long as they're not IMMEDIATELY threatening the very population you're trying to protect.

Then, you never have an apprehension which is significantly more dangerous to the population that you're trying to protect.

Israel isn't trying to protect ANYONE'S population beyond their entitled own.

You've drawn yet ANOTHER failed apologist entitlement model for Israel.

It was quite apparent in the recent thread about Israel that few if any of the protagonists are knowledgeable of the history of that part of the middle east. I might suggest that a search of 'the Balfour Declaration' might be a good starting point.

Also the biography of Lawrence of Arabia, there was so much chicanery on the part of the British and French there during WW I it is still recovering.

Trying to not go off track...

You can't be an entitled, self-righteous, all-or-nothing, apologist for ANY action and bitter people now merely because you got screwed in the past.

Or are getting screwed, currently, by actions your moral elitism causes.

Ask me how I know.

Israel is merely a big reservation. The only difference between it and American Indian reservations is that, Post WWII, Jews were given land that someone else actually wanted...
