You think Darryl Issa is making a mountain out of molehill on this issue?

Ignore that it's Issa. The guy just rushed the building, and penetrated. This is bad.
He could have been explosive. He needed to have been kept from getting into the place. If they were down to shooting him as the only way to stop that, they should have shot him.
Though apparently a locked front door would have sufficed this time, and they presumably have that covered, now.

Understand that I think if he would've been shot, it would've been his own fault and not the cops. It just seems in hindsight the agent near the door made the right choice. Perhaps they'll release the camera footage on the inside but they may not want to give out too much operational info.
I don't know if it's possible to carry enough explosives on one person to do any real damage to the WH, though again I doubt they want to discuss that.

Ok, reconsidering. The First Family had left the building. Given that, it was probably not necessary to shoot a guy who had not shown a weapon.
Fixing the front door locking procedure was nonetheless very necessary....

Off with Boosh's head? You wascally wadical wabbbit...
What I'm reading is saying that when the Secret Service was rolled out of the Treasury Dept. and into that wunnerful clusterf**k of an agency that we call DHS, the service suffered from another layer of politicized oversight.

I see
Locking the front door when not in use might not be a bad security precaution!

And therein lies the issue: it's exceedingly difficult to have to make such decisions, far more complex than going "in country," flexing your mission specific training (or that of your son's, if you're that sort of guy) and dealing in scenarios where accident acceptance and the ends justifying the means are already in place.
This Agent was going to be eviscerated, either way.
Given that, trust your training and instincts. As a guess, the only reason the offender remains alive is based in who was in the residence at the time of the breach.
Sum? By dumb luck.

Issa does not possess the skill to make anything. I really find the idea of Congress telling anyone that they are not doing their job ironic.

Another problem reported, a felon with a gun in an elevator with Obie. Perhaps a onceover is in order.
In the meantime, put hideous and completely useless racks in front of the WH fence so they can pretend to be doing something. Idiots.
