I don't know about the burnings, I was amazed at our restraint after 9-11. Something to be proud of.

A few random incidences Bob. It was so bad here during ww1 that my ancestors had to change my last name, because it sounded too German (though it isn't).

Really? Sounds like you're equating a lil' bit of cultural discrimination during WWI with rightwing nutjobs murdering Sikhs at their church services and various other incidents. There were more than just a few incidents of mayhem and murder against muslims after 9/11/ but hey, at least we didn't go all Russian on them and exhort everyone to commit pogroms on 7/11 shopkeepers, eh.
BTW we kept our German surname but gramps was convinced that the higher ups in the AAC kept him from flying against the Boche on the western front because of it. Silly ol' coot was too damn good as a stick jocky teaching recruits how to not auger a Jenny into the ground to waste against the Red Baron.

The Islamists were a new enemy at the time. There's been a lot of 'development' of attitude since then.

Very restraint in Brooklyn except for the immigration authority which hit
the Pakistanis hard. I really felt it for such a law abiding community.
A lot of them fled to Canada.

As to your cherry picked time frame in that SPLC article, didja read the part where Sikhs continued to be targeted to this day by mouthbreathing troglodytes who can't tell the difference between a Muslim and someone who couldn't be farther from a Muslim if they actually tried?
