But I'm curious, Zeke. What branch were you in? You got any personal experience with the training or conditioning of field Marines? I kinda fucking doubt it.
But you go ahead on spewing your moronic "expertise".

Suddenly, you modify your original statement because your argument was soundly defeated?
That's so "you."

Feh. Under a smidgen of pressure, Zeke relocates to Dodge City. I'm gonna take that sniveling response as...Zeke served in no branch. You don't know any more about law enforcement than you do about military service. You're a fraud, Zeke. All bluster, no balls.
If I'm in a firefight I'm taking a well trained Marine next to me over a donut infused cop...every time.

"Victory" would imply you were ever acknowledged as opponent.
Actual knowledge stands on its own.

Sacrificing experience and expertise for body type is surely not what you are advocating.
The military services had (have?) a rather arbitrary set of hight-weight standards of physical appearance that tended to dismiss those that had a fire plug physique regardless of their duty performance or training testing. They'd ignore all that inconsequential stuff to assume if your physical profile didn't resemble the guy in the recruiting poster because you had a chunkier profile, you could be flagged for separation from service if you didn't/couldn't lose weight. A number of fairly muscularily stout guys thus got the boot due to failure to meet the rigid hight-weight ratio that ignored other factors. Not a theoretical, this happened and probably still happens, so I'd never presume physical fitness of someone else unless plainly obvious to the contrary.

Physical conditioning standards and programs in most big city police departments are a joke. And a relatively sick joke at that.
Conversely...when I went through Marine Corps boot, those of us who thought we were lean and healthy put on 10 to 25 pounds of muscle in 12 weeks, and the people who thought they were muscular were mostly fat asses who lost similar numbers or held their weight in a transfer of fat for muscle.

I went thru Army basic in 66 and again in 72, it'd be good to still be able to handle that. Otherwise PT in combats can pretty much eff up knees and feet later.

I did the Marine basic and then ITR in '69. It's probably one of the reasons my knees are so bad now.

I think it is stupid how much they make Marines run...they really over do it...and that is why they all have very bad knees when they get older. You can see the beginnings of arthritis in the knees on the x-rays I shoot on 20-30 year old service members.
