You don't try to "get away from" people by being in their car, uninvited.

1. Not when initially shot.
2. Thirty-five feet isn't a chase, it's within ongoing direct contact.
3. If you're moving, you're still a threat.

Now, since what was robbed was cigars, there seems to be some kind of disconnect here.

Not in the slightest.
The dumbassery of being in the street gets you scrutiny. Matching the description of a robbery suspect with the pilfered merchandise in your hand gets you direct contact.
Please, try to keep up.

There is no doubt in my mind that is exactly the message they wanted to send. And sad to say, from the way the tone of a number of posters right here on this forum changed after it came out, it appears to have had the desired effect.

How do you make the leap from this:
Quote:
The Ferguson police officer who shot Michael Brown didn't stop him because he was suspected in a convenience-store robbery, but because he was "walking down the middle of the street blocking traffic," the city's police chief said Friday.
Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson -- hours after documents came out labeling the 18-year-old Brown as the "primary suspect" in the store theft -- told reporters the "robbery does not relate to the initial contact between the officer and Michael Brown."

When you are running after someone that is trying to get away, that's a chase.
When an unarmed person is running away from an armed person they are not a threat.

Enter Badge 714
Just the facts PC:
1) A big teenager and an LEO in his patrol car met in the street.
2) The LEO was not aware of any recent crime that may have been committed by the teen.
2) According to the officer's report, the officer was assaulted by the teen through his vehicle's open driver's window.
3) The officer exited his car and fired ??? shots killing the teen.
What Joe needs:
1) Were any shots fired from within the car?
The unanswerable, but most important question: Since the officer was able to exit his car, why didn't he roll up the window and call for back-up?

Again, doesn't jive with the ye witness accounts.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...-Missouri.html
Quote:
Eyewitnesses Tiffany Mitchell and Piaget Crenshaw said on Wednesday that the police officer tried to pull Michael Brown into his patrol vehicle before a shot was fired. Both women confirmed earlier reports that the teen had run from police and then turned around with his hands up - but shots continued to be fired. The 18-year-old died after being shot up to eight times on a street in Ferguson, Missouri on Saturday
Police claim that Brown assaulted the police officer and tried to grab his gun - a version of events that has been totally contradicted by eyewitnesses

So Mike Brown has gone from being a teenager with attitude to a thug and now a criminal. When he died he was still only a teenager. He gained his reputation after he was killed. Wow, now I can see how Faux does it.

How can you have any idea where someone is running or whether they are armed? Especially if they just assaulted you in your vehicle?
Perhaps you should take a look at thirty-five feet. That's two car lengths. That's not a chase, that's an ongoing altercation initiated by a guy who just robbed a convenience store.
