No, same as some of us feel here. It's not simply a matter of law and order. The teenager (or thug if you will) did not deserve to die for stealing $50 worth of cigars. Heck people probably shoplift merchandise that exceed this amount routinely. I have no personal experience of course.

I found it sort of interesting that Gov. Nixon used the term victim more than once this morning when referencing Brown on Meet The Press. If he does have more information on the investigation (being the Governor and all) this would be an interesting choice of words.

It's been pointed out before that he did not die because he stole.
He died in a separate incident 10 minutes later.
It is being assumed, and IMO it is a rational assumption, that the robbery played a role in escalating the later encounter.

He wasn't shot for "stealing cigars." He was shot for assaulting a police officer. Hell, beyond being appropriately used to initiate contact, the cigars are irrelevant.
