You don't have the evidence to support that, yet. In a situation like this, when released publicly, things have to be conclusive.
Officer Wilson, likely, told his superiors at the scene but you don't release it until video or confirmation.
That's just prudence.

Yes, it's very suspicious.
Why wait six days?

Simple evidence based confirmation.

This gets better and better... (sigh)
Paraphrased from earlier in the thread: "A call from a convenience store alerted a patrolman to the area where he observed an individual matching the description in the nearby road. Contact with said individual resulted in a violent confrontation where shots were fired."
That appears to be the direction we're going, evidence based.

Could the reason why we didn't hear about this till now be that if the report was filed, the press would have got the officers name off the complaint because it's public information?

Why did they wait all this time to release the convenience store pictures?
Oh well
I guess perhaps I was wrong never mind.

And here's Zeke with his excuses.
Right on time.
I could set my watch by you.

No it took them six days to come up with something and then fabricate it into an excuse for shooting Brown.
And shoplifting a half a dozen cheap cigars is "Strong Arm Robbery"?
Gimmee a break.

That's certainly not impossible although his name could have been redacted.
My guess -- just a guess -- is that they had most of this stuff 3-4 days ago but didn't want to release it into a looting melee. Now, with a bit more under control, they release it in the morning and see how much anger has been deflated by time and information, tonight.

The AP story now out says this:
Quote:
A suburban St. Louis police chief on Friday identified the officer whose fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager ignited days of heated protests, and released documents alleging the teen was killed after a robbery in which he was suspected of stealing a $48.99 box of cigars.
...
Brown and his friend, Dorian Johnson, were suspected of taking a box of cigars from a store in Ferguson that morning, according to police reports. Jackson said Wilson went to the area after a 911 call reporting a “strong-arm” robbery just before noon. He said a dispatcher gave a description of the robbery suspect, and Wilson, who had been assisting on another call, was sent to investigate.

Either Swisher Sweets are up to $8.00 each, or more than six were stolen....
Any police report that alleges Mike Brown is a suspect in this was produced after his shooting and death. Only a description without identification existed at the time of the shooting.
Is there any word of Dorian Johnson being arrested for his alleged role in this robbery?
