You're gonna give yourself a headache with all this eye-rolling as of late.

The kid aggressively laid hands on a cop. Would the kid have been gunned down if he were a white kid? Probably not. Hopefully some justice will be served. But it is St. Louis...so there's doubt.

That said...by the time I was his age, I knew not to lay hands on a cop...so I never did. And black or white...here I am.

PS - I was a smart-ass with the Chicago cops a couple of times and paid for it. I was hanging out with the crowd in Grant Park in August 1968 and paid for it with 13 stitches in my thick skull.

PSS - There's a story here in Chicago that John Kass (asshole pretender to the page 2 slot of Mike Royko) just won't let go of. Anyway, John Wrana, 95 year old resident of a Park Forest nursing home was confronted by the Park Forest coppers after he threatened facility staffers and paramedics over taking him to the hospital. When the cops showed up Mr. Wrana pulled a butcher knife on them and was tazed...which apparently had little effect, and then hit with 5 bean bag rounds. It opened up some blood vessels inside and he died. I believe the lead cop has been charged. Yeh...he was very old...yeh, he probably had dementia to some degree and was agitated...yeh, he came at the coppers with a butcher knife. If the cops would have jumped him and he got hurt or one of the cops or staff or paramedics got hurt, John Kass would be all over the cops for their mishandling. Nobody wins in a situation like that.

So there were thug cops in 1968.

And there are thug cops today too.

It's not clear to me whether the kid directly agressed the LEO or pushed back a car door that was forcefully pushed onto him.

You sound like you are nostalgic for those good old days.

You remind me of these dudes that get all misty eyed about how much their daddy loved them cuz when they did wrong he would drag them out to the ole woodshed and whoop their asses so bad they couldn't sit down for a week.

"What difference at this point does it make?"

Pure conspiracy by the Leftys.

I don't see the difference in your comparison. In both cases the civilian is displaying aggression. Someone purposely impeding me in opening my car door is displaying physical aggression.

Only if they approached the car for that purpose. If your intention as the occupant is to strike them by opening the door after stopping next to them the story changes with you the aggressor/instigator. As I said, there is a lack of clarity on the facts of the initial encounter without a recording to verify.

1. I observe the facts not disputed make the shooting questionable in some aspects. In particular, he took the final three shots while some distance from the cruiser. Whether or not he was raising his hands in surrender, he at least had retreated and was no longer a deadly threat, if he ever was.

2. I've disputed some claims made in this topic that indicate a belief that the police have a right to execute persons they consider a threat, without question or limit.

I do not consider these points 'pure conspiracy.'

More like pure conspiracy would be 'a pissed-off-to-begin-with cop bounced his car door off a kid, got super pissed, and murdered him.' But I don't claim that is what happened. Insufficient evidence to actually say what happened.
