Huh? The Willie Horton ad was run by G.H.W. Bush's 1988 campaign against Dukakis.
That said, I liked Bush the Elder about as much as I disliked his son.

The point about Horton, as all should recall, is that Horton was used BY THE BUSH CAMPAIGN as a racial cue to motivate white support.
Is your post a calculated partisan smear?

My quote is a response to Bob's post that was in response to my saying that George I was a decent President.
The answer to your question is no. Bob asked me if I remembered Willie Horton. I remembered the name, but not his place in the zeitgeist. So I Googled him and posted the first paragraph from Wiki to let Bob know that I remembered (although an F5 was needed).
In American politics race is a red herring (nonpartisan's opinion).

Follow the post trail finnbow. Mine's about the carrier's namesake.
Wise men agree on your last sentence.

I never liked the guy.
Even back when I was a Republican.
Something about him gave me the creeps.
In 1988 I wrote in Ronald Reagan for President, even though he wasn't on the ballot. Then in 1992 I voted for Perot.
Now that I think about it, the entire Bush Family gives me the creeps. I think they are Evil incarnate.

US sending arms to Kurds in Iraq
My prediction is that the Kurds are now going to kick some ass, and that this is going to be a major win for Obama. It will be interesting to see how the right wing tries to spin this.

SYDNEY (AP) — The Obama administration has begun directly providing weapons to Kurdish forces who have started to make gains against Islamic militants in northern Iraq, senior U.S. officials said Monday.
Previously, the U.S. had insisted on only selling arms to the Iraqi government in Baghdad, but the Kurdish peshmerga fighters had been losing ground to Islamic State militants in recent weeks.
The officials wouldn't say which U.S. agency is providing the arms or what weapons are being sent, but one official said it isn't the Pentagon. The CIA has historically done similar quiet arming operations.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the operation publicly.
