It was always obvious that if Iraq had gone more like it was imagined, it would have become the base for further wished-for operations.

Not enough.
Every registered Republican should have a surcharge added to their taxes until they have payed up for Bush's $2 Trillion Dollar War in Iraq.

That was obvious.
I can still remember how the neocons in the Bush Administration were making noises about going into Syria right after Bush's "Mission accomplished" photo-op.
If things hadn't gone to shit like they did, I have no doubt they would have gone in.

Asking Republicans to pay for the war they started? Un-American. You gotta remember that Republican spending and/or tax cuts always pay for themselves.
At least, you'd think the Republicans would have the dignity to STFU about Obama not being able to snap his fingers and magically fix all the things they phucked up, from the economy to Iraq.

I guess I misunderstood your McCain-like criticism that Obama not arming the Syrian "moderates" earlier caused this current crisis.

Air support and the weapons we see fit to supply to Iraq and the Kurds, and it's past time we helped the Free Syria Army fight them too. ISIS is evil.

Playing whack -a- mole with every entity that we disapprove is a non-starter, what we really need is a good crystal ball and a fabulous time machine.

That's true Finn, but he was going to do it. I'm criticizing him for bowing to pressure, not a judgment error. Well that might be
