He ran a what, 7 or 8% deficit? Obama has scorched that puppy. As far as SS and tax cuts your side has done every bit as much.
That said I tend to agree with you, Reagan didn't cut government.

How much are you paying for SS and Medicare?
7.65%
or 15.3%?

That was your boy Reagan's idea.
And your retirement age didn't go up, you can still retire at 62, or anytime after that and get Social Security. You will just get less.
So what it really was was a cut in benefits, not a raise in the retirement age. And that's what I'm calling it, I don't give a shit what anyone else says.
That's what happened to me.
I took my SS at 65, which was the age I was supposed to get 100% of my PIA. Instead, thanks to your boy Reagan I only got 93.33%. So the way I figure it each check I get is 6.67% short. I'm keeping track of that, and after the revolution I'm going to make the right wingers pay me back, with interest.

Wait a sec. I've been screwed already and have to work till 67 - that's a good 3% better. Or worse, depending on your POV
Tom, I didn't spend the money.

It got spent on people like Tom, the double dippers and unions.

I went into SS early as my life span is uncertain at best and I was in need of the relief.

The Dems controlled the House back then I agree though, it was a cut in benefits. Wait for the coming debt crisis, it's going to get worse before it gets better.
4-2-7 it was spend on day to day expenses by both parties. Perhaps the greatest ripoff ever.

There is no debt crisis in this country.
There is a distribution of wealth crisis.

You mean like when you right wingers turn the mere mention of maybe banning 100 round drum magazines into "Obama is going to take away all our guns!"?
