Excuse me for extrapolating, but segregationists are not merit-scholarship winners. Racism is dumb and so are racists. The Democratic Party showed racists the door. The GOP welcomed them and, of course, their fellow travelers — creationists, gun nuts, anti-abortion zealots, immigrant haters of all sorts and homophobes. Increasingly, the Republican Party has come to be defined by what it opposes and not what it proposes. Its abiding enemy is modernity.

What I found interesting was the ref to Americans of African descent who chose to vote for Republicans who were not sympathetic allies, what I call "Jewish Nazi syndrome".
I may not always know who my friends are but my enemies alleviate doubt by declaring themselves in word and action.

I hope the left believes everything it tells itself. Up here in Yankeeville the GOP is working hard with the black communities. It wouldn't take many votes to sway Ohio at least into red.

Nixon was an interesting man. Too bad he was so flawed.

If you want to win over some Africa Americans your going to first have to start going after your racists that are dragging you down by alienation them. But I don't see any sign of any Republican trying to do that.
