Intent matters. Truthful description of the provocations and lack or credibility of another is defensible, I'd say. Likewise, rants born of temporary emotional agitation may be excused.

On the other hand, a person of unremitting hostile and tendentious attitude, whose posts are typically laced with a dogged malice while lacking redeeming logical or informational content, does not deserve any benefit.
