Oh, I'm sorry bro I forgot that victimhood is after all the main constituent philosophy of the 'bagger nation, of which you seemed to have joined Mike.

FDR played political games too...but we still got social security.

I mean that is what politics is all about.

Occasionally, they slip up and let their continual quest for power be interrupted by doing something worthwhile. This certainly cannot be said of the current Congress.

The New Deal was a power maintenance initiative, as was Johnson's GAS. In both these cases it wasn't a slipup. It was a response to a paradigm shift related to the rights of the citizen. Sometimes the roads of power are paved with good.

oh do not get me wrong those guys are worthless.

Boehner is basically on a work slow down so the base will re-elect him and his anti-Obama friends from the South. Problem is that base is shrinking.

Yeah, but there are times when a leader needs to step up, get above the
election calculus, speak straight and stern to even his partisan constituents.

The country has lost important characteristics of good governance, by the
excessive pandering to the lobby for illegals.

On this issue, Obama behavior has certainly not been a profile in courage. He initially had changing the 2008 law as part of his proposal, but punted when those to Pelosi's left went nuts. This pandering is no different, however, to the constant pandering done by Boehner to the fire-breathers in his caucus.

EDIT:

Here's some leadership for you, for better or worse.

When are they leaving? I hope they leave soon.

November '14 is the next election. It's pretty unlikely that the Dems would take the house though.
