And that gap is getting wider very day.

BS. If Israel hadn't been attacked by the coalition of Arab states and Palestinians as soon as the ink on the partition agreement cooled, Israel probably would never have had cause to kick their asses out and create the "breathing room".

The Nazis took the offensive in WWII. Israel has been under attack from the moment of its inception. That's the critical difference - and one that I'm sure you'll go out of your way to ignore.

Just like Palestinians are supposed to gleefully accept collective punishment for the murderers of the 3 settler kids (who, by law, had no right even living in the West Bank to begin with)? There's plenty of blame to go around here, and somehow Americans are the only people incapable of seeing it. Hell, nearly half of Israelis don't agree with their own settlement policies, nor collective punishment of Palestinians. We're siding with the Biblical zealots who believe that the Bible gives them an absolute right to Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), even if it comes to illegally seizing land and exterminating or making refugees out of the land's legal owners.
