She would have become the laughing stock of the millennium, a Roman oddity.

Unfortunately, it wasn't.

Pete

Thank-you.

BTW, I hereby nominate 'it seemed like a good idea at the time' as the Visa Card of Excuses. It's good anywhere, but it's pretty thin, and if you use it too much you wind up in a deep hole.

So it ranks with, it's Bush's fault?

Palin could've been a masterstroke by McCain, if she wasn't herself. Younger, female, charismatic (she was a rock star at the convention).

Any argument about her inexperience and possible out of center could've been used to point at the top of the Dem ticket. I'd say either McCain didn't do his homework, or there simply wasn't enough data, in which case he took a calculated risk and lost.

Pete

I heard a good one about Palin from Joy Reid today, "Palin is like that little plant in the movie 'Little Shop of Horrors', the more red meat you feed it, the bigger it gets".

Amazing resemblance, eh?

Yeah, the Republicans only tried to use that a million times during the campaign.

A million and one might have done the trick.
