You know, thinking about it, I'd say that is a very apt analogy. A gangbanger, out to hurt and establish dominance over a rival gang, has similar aims and motivations to our troll.

The chilling part is the realization that such a personality would lend itself to actual political violence, if things develop that way. His justifications for what he does would work perfectly well in such event....

Don't be too hard on Danny Boy he is actually good for a laugh if you learn to look at him the right way. He only disrupts threads if we let him. As a telecom engineer let me put it this way, there is no perfect transmission media, they all have a certain amount of background noise.

I could go back to the beginnings of this site and find posts where I have simply stated. All the economists say that at least 70% of our economy is consumer driven. So if you beggar the consumer just how long do you think the economy will survive? It is not only greed on the part of the 1% it is also arrant stupidity. YMMV
