Nah, if anything he's a petty crook amongst a whole lot (500+) bigger crooks in the House of Representatives.

Yup, it's in the wiki above. Petty shit comparatively. He's also got a Bronze Star with Valor and a Purple Heart from the retreat at the Yalu River in Korea.

Rangel was born in Harlem in New York City. He earned a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for his service in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he led a group of soldiers out of a deadly Chinese Army encirclement during the Battle of Kunu-ri in 1950.
If he had been white he probably would have gotten a much higher decoration than the bronze star.

Fuck you for disrespecting this true American hero.

"In March 2010, Rangel stepped aside as Ways and Means Chair. In November 2010, the Ethics Committee found Rangel guilty of 11 counts of violating House ethics rules, and on December 2, 2010, the full House approved a sanction of censure against Rangel."

Hmmm, 2010...Now, when did the teabaggers take over the House again?

Truth here. Under fire and wounded he led 40 men out of danger as a Pfc. A hero indeed.

True. Can't take that away from him and wouldn't if I could. But, as much as we need folks to counter the tide of whackjobs and jackals invading the halls of government, I'd have to say he's been at it too long already.

I beg to differ. Charlie Rangel has been a massive thorn in the side of the wingnuts for decades and a good soldier for the cause. I'd be happy to see him stay for another twenty years or as long as he wants. His mind is still sharp. Shit, he's only got one year on Merrylander.

Are you blaming the teabaggers for his censure?
