The moderates did not have the determination and commitment of the Jihadists. Anywhere there was an encounter between the two the Jihadists would often take away their weapons/drive them out.

It's Obama's fault that the Shia still hate the Sunnis.

Buh, but John McCain said there was no Shia/Sunni conflict in Iraq. Maybe he was talking about prior to the '50s?

950 A.D., that is.

You could fit in a thimble what McCain knows about foreign affairs and Mideast history. Similarly, you could fit in a thimble all the countries he doesn't want to bomb.

With all this talk about oil prices going up due to instability in the Middle East, shouldn't we be doubling or tripling down on alternate energy like wind and solar?

Seems like a no brainer to me but what do I know? I'm just an old broken down construction puke who's spent some time out in the hot sun and the wind.

Yup. Buncha effin' liars got us into Iraq in the first place and now the newsies are trotting them out as experts once again. At least the good folk at MSNBC like Ed Shultz are having none of it.

+3

Unless we stay in Iraq and Afghanistan until the end of time this scenario will play over and over. Biden's idea of splitting Iraq along religious boundaries was the correct thing to do IMO.
